Ornamental and Popcorn

Heads/plants look much like sorghum; heads traditionally used for brooms. Colors include gold, deep brown, rusted wheat and white.  Attractive for dry arrangements, crafts and brooms. (16,000-20,000 seeds per pound).

Calico popcorn ears are larger than our miniature popcorn varieties, but smaller than Indian corn. The ears range in size from 5-8″. The kernels of seed are multi-colored with reds, yellows, and calicos most common. There are also ears with brown, black, green, blue, pink, and orange kernels and many ears with shades of these colors. The seed can be popped or used for decorations. (3,000 seeds per pound).

Larger, longer ears than standard strawberry making for a good pack out. Husk colors are a mixture of beige, burgundy, reds, and streaked. 5-6′ stalk height with good stand-ability. Fantastic yields. Harvest when husks are dried. (5,000 seeds per pound)

This early dent flour corn variety has an ear 8-10″ in length. The remarkable trait of this dent corn lies in the beautiful muted colors in the ear. The kernels of the corn are NOT the shiny, deep intense colors found in Indian Corn. The ears contain many of the soft colors found in nature near harvest time. The beautiful ears can be used for fall decorations.

A hybrid ornamental corn developed by the University of New Hampshire. Early maturity plus shorter, stouter plants that are less susceptible to wind damage. Ears are 7″ – 10″ in length with 20% to 30% purple husks. Decorative colors of yellow, red, and white.

Red, yellow, black, gray, brown, purple, pink, blue, white, orange, and many different calicos.  Most ears are combinations of many colors.  (7500 seeds per pound).

Large yellow kernels have great popping volume.

Yellow popcorn with tolerance to Goss’s wilt. Large single ears promote high yield potential. This is a mushroom type flake with good expansion and popping percentage.

Ears are 3 – 6″ long. Nice percentage of red husks in this blend. Wide variety of kernel colors on the ear, including many pastels. Stalks are 6-8′ tall and stand well. Harvest when husks are dried. (5,000 seeds per pound)
