Squash (Winter) Buttercup & Kabocha

Darker, Japanese-type Kabocha. Preferred in some regions for it’s darker, black-green exterior that resists fading. Consistent in performance and quality; tends to be a strong grower.

Dark green fruit is 8″x 4″, 2.5- 4 lbs. with thick, deep yellow-ish orange flesh. The flavor is sweet and the texture is very smooth and dry (in a good way).

Smooth and brightly colored red-orange rind is a complement to green kabochas. Flavor is smooth and sweet, and shows high quality when compared to others in its class.
